Our beloved, Sarah Corry Markette was born September 3, 1976, in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Gainesville, Georgia. Sarah moved to Birmingham, Alabama 3 years ago, where she resided until her death on May 14, 2013. She graduated with a BS in Nursing at North Georgia College and a BS in Psychology at the University of Georgia. Sarah worked as a psychiatric nurse at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition to family and friends, she loved music, her animals and the outdoors.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Clinton Mark Edwards of Birmingham, Alabama; her step children, Lillian Rose and Charles Matthew Edwards of Birmingham, Alabama; her parents, Charles and Ann Hendrickson of Gainesville, Georgia; her siblings, Marsha and Cliff Hill of Dacula, Georgia, Dale Hendrickson of Atlanta, Georgia, Wesley Markette Pruitt of Gainesville, Georgia, Robert and Preston Hendrickson of Atlanta, Georgia; her nieces, Amanda Hill of Austin, Texas, Kelsey Hill of Dacula, Georgia, Collins Pruitt of Gainesville, Georgia, and Hastings Hendrickson of Atlanta, Georgia; her aunt, Sarah Swoszowski of Gainesville, Georgia; her uncle, Roscoe Markette of Woodstock, Georgia and numerous cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Owen Franklin Markette, Jr. of Gainesville, Georgia; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Franklin Markette, Sr, of Atlanta, Georgia and Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Collins, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia.
Gravesides service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, May 18, at the Alta Vista Cemetery open to all who knew and loved Sarah. Pastor Earl Pirkle will officiate. Following the ceremony, family will receive guests at the Central Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
