Curtis Pinkney Martin

Mr. Curtis Pinkney Martin, age 86 of 365 County Line Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at his residence.
A son of the late Laurus and Pammie Lewallen Martin, he was born March 9, 1927 in Madison County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Banks County, Georgia. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran, retired from Coats and Clark, member and Chaplain of the VFW and member of Prospect United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Lois Heaton Martin; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Dennis Phillips of Toccoa and Pat and Mike Oliver of Flowery Branch, Georgia; son, John Martin of New Hope, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Lori and Kevin Thompson, Donnie and Tabatha Phillips, Pam and David Wilson, Amy and Shane Haff and Jill and Benji Fricks; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Melvin Martin of Cornelia, Georgia, Verner Martin of Statham, Georgia and Robert Martin of Virginia; sisters, Agnes Richey of Commerce, Georgia and Edna Lacey of Alabama.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 2, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Tommy Childress officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Hunter Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Shane Haff, Noah Phillips, Elijah Phillips, Benji Fricks and David Wilson.
The family will be at the home on County Line Road and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM to 9 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road, Suite 114, Gainesville, Georgia 30501 in memory of Mr. Curtis Pinkney Martin.
Interment will follow in Toccoa City Cemetery with Military Honors by the Georgia National Guard Honor Guard. Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. Curtis Pinkney Martin.
