Larry Clarence Dover

Larry Clarence Dover, age 65, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at Habersham Medical Center.



Mr. Dover was born on February 15, 1948, in Habersham County, Georgia, to Clarence Dover of Demorest and the late Edith Church Dover. Larry was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Brady Benfield. He was a graduate of North Habersham High School and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Larry was a member of Habersham Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of Deacons and Trustee. He was a great baby sitter for his grandchildren, and a great husband and father.



In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jeanne Benfield Dover, Demorest, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Kristie Dover, Demorest, GA and Shawn and Alysia Dover, Clarkesville, GA; sister, Kay Dover Barron, Clarkesville, GA; brother, David Dover, Demorest, GA; grandchildren, Sawyer, Carley, Sutton, Slade, and Seth Dover; and mother-in-law, Ruby Benfield, Clarkesville, GA.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Doug Porter, Shane Dover, and Rev. Jerry Buschman officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the funeral home.
