Robert Eugene Sipes

Mr. Robert Eugene Sipes, age 94, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his residence, with his family gathered around him.

Funeral services are scheduled for 7:00 pm Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. Dr. Jerry Gill will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, prior to the service. Interment will be 1:30 pm Friday, April 26, 2013 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

Mr. Sipes was born February 14, 1919 in Ostrander, Ohio and is the son of the late Joseph Edman Sipes and Amy Ellen (Ramsey) Sipes. He served in the United States Army during World War II; at Rhineland Ardennes in Northern France and the Central European Theater. He was a self-employed finishing carpenter. He was a life long member of the United Methodist Church of Ostrander, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Sipes is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Rosetta May (Weaver) Sipes of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Roland and Diane Sipes of Rockville, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Dennis Longwell of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren and spouses, Michael and Sara Sipes of Marion, OH; Stephanie and Kevin Burruss of Murrayville, GA; great-grandson, Raiden Sipes of Marion, OH.
