James Ralph Ravan Jr.

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. James Ralph Ravan Jr., age 63 of Dahlonega. Mr. Ravan passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 23, 2013 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rural Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev.Jack Pilcher officiating.

James was born in White County on March 18, 1950 the late James Ralph Ravan Sr. and Ruby Ramey Ravan. He was employed with American Protein for several years as a truck driver and was a longtime member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. In addition to his father, James is preceded in death by his wife, Denise Winkler Ravan.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Corbin Ravan, Dahlonega; mother,Ruby Ravan, Dahlonega; daughter and husband, Tammy and Johnny Fortner, Dahlonega; son, Michael Ravan, Cleveland; son and friend, Justin Ravan and Carrie Napier, Dahlonega; sister and brother in law,Gail and Willie Jarrard, Dahlonega; brothers and sisters in law, Ricky and Diane Ravan, Cleveland, Freddie and Sherrill Ravan also of Cleveland. James is also survived by his two grandsons, Will Alexander and Trevor Alexander.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 9 p.
