Pansy Davis Alexander

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Pansy Davis Alexander, age 97, of Jefferson, who passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013.

Mrs. Alexander was born in Jackson County, Georgia a daughter of the late Tom P. and Zipporah Hayes Davis and was one of 13 children. Mrs. Alexander loved children, having 7 of her own, and was the owner of Pansy's Daycare for 52 years, the first licensed daycare in Jackson County. Thousands of children were under her loving care. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Jefferson First United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. "Dutch" Alexander, 4 sons, Charles Fleeman, Timothy Fleeman, Jimmy Fleeman and Byron Alexander, a grandson, Chuck Fleeman, 5 sisters, Ruth Carnell, Mary Lou McDonald, Ellen Perry, Beth Wages, and Merle Snider, 6 brothers, Malvin Davis, John Davis, George Davis, Hayes Davis, and Ed Davis.

Funeral services will be held Sunday April 21, 2013 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Hardy officiating. Interment will follow in Woodbine Cemetery with Hopper Alexander, Jerry Davis, Rickey Davis, Tony Davis, Davis Gilmer, and Mike Beatty honored as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday April 20, 2013 at Evans Funeral Home from 5-8 PM.

Survivors include her daughter Emmagene (Howard) Merk, Jefferson, Ga. Sons, Dicky (Lilly) Fleeman, Jefferson, Ga., and John (Sandy) Alexander, Braselton, Ga.

Sister, Vera Pace, Winder, Ga. daughters in laws, Alice Alexander, Gail Turner, and Betty Fleeman, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and a number of other relatives survive.
