Mr. Harry E. Burkett, Jr., 63 of Flowery Branch died Saturday April 6, 2013.
Born in Augusta, Georgia Mr. Burkett had lived in Hall County for a number of years. He was employed with the State of Georgia Department of Human Resources in the Budget and Finance division.
Survivors include his fiancé, Dr. Janet Valente, Griffin, Ga., son, Allen Burkett, Gainesville; mother, Patricia Burkett, Temple, Texas; sister and brother-in-law; Pamela and Luther Wilson, Frisco, Texas; sister, Lisa Burkett Avignone, Dallas, Texas; three nieces and a number of cousins also survive.
Mr. Burkett is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Harry E. Burkett, Sr., daughter, Laura Kristin Burkett and a sister, Patricia Burkett Koster.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday April 12, 2013 at the First Baptist Church on Green Street. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the memorial service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Georgia, 3715 Northside Pkwy Building 400, Suite 300, Atlanta, Georgia 30327.
