James Wallace Rhodes

James Wallace Rhodes, Sr., age 85, of Cumming, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013.

He was born August 10, 1927 in Columbus, GA. He attended The University of Florida on a GI bill and graduated in 1958 with a degree in Business Administration. He married Doris Barrackman on February 22, 1954. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and Army. He retired from General Motors in 1991 with 32 years of service at the Lakewood Plant as a Cost Accountant. He worked at Panduit from 1995 to 2010. A Master Mason, he was a member of Glenwood Hills Lodge #703 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eldis Remington and father, John Rhodes.



Survivors include his wife, Doris "Jean" Rhodes of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, James Wallace and Donna Jean Rhodes, Jr. of Conyers; granddaughter, Hannah Jean Rhodes; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Jay Green of Atlanta; sister, Carolyn Spell; brother, George Rhodes.



Memorial services will be held Monday, April 15th at 11:00 am at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Allen Grady officiating. Inurnment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 am until hour of the service.
