Robert Miles Miller

Funeral services for Robert Miles Miller, age 78, of Clarkesville will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Grady Walden will officiate with interment to follow the service at Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Dr. Miller passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at The Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin, GA.

Born on October 27, 1934, Dr. Miller was the son of the late William Miles and Robbie Kate Fenn Miller of Adel, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Annie Ruth Miller.

"Dr. Bob" loved dentistry. He graduated from Emory Dental School at the age of 22 and began his practice in Clarkesville, where he practiced for 55 years.

Bob loved Clarkesville Baptist Church, which he joined in 1957. He faithfully served as a devoted and active member for 55 years.

"Daddy Bob" loved his three children, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He especially enjoyed his trips with them to Walt Disney World and his time with them at Lake Burton. He was a patient grandfather, finding amusement in their antics, encouraging them in studies and activities and even teaching them to tie their shoes.

But most of all, Bob loved Jean, his best friend and wife of 53 years. When he married the prettiest red-head in all of North Georgia, they began a partnership that endured good times and bad and sickness and health.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Frye Miller, of Clarkesville, son and daughter-in-law, Cary and Denise Miller of Clarkesville, daughter, Robin Miller of Clarkesville, and daughter and son-in-law, Alyson and Warren Stubbs of Marietta. Grandchildren and their spouses include Sarah Miller Kroll, Burton Miller, Hunter and Brittany McCutcheon, Austin Ward, and Chandler Miller; Jacob, Henry, Audrey and Luke Stubbs; and Emory and Jack Gale. Great-grandson is Michael Miller Kroll.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 5495 Highway 197 South, Clarkesville, on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 6
