Clyde Stamper Roger

Mrs. Clyde Stamper Rogers, age 96, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, April 5, 2013 at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Jerry Gill will officiate.

Mrs. Rogers was born on December 8, 1916 in Cherokee County, GA and was the daughter of the late John B. Stanford and Martha (Jordan) Stanford. She graduated from Blackwell High School in Cobb County where she was a member of the varsity basketball team. She continued her education in business machines and held various positions in office related fields. Mrs. Rogers retired from Rich's Inc., having worked for 19 years in customer servicer. She married Gilbert L. Rogers in October of 1936. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Milford Baptist Church in Marietta for many years. She loved caring for her family, working, cooking, reading and her Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Lila Grogan, Effie Whitfield, Laska Westbrook and Maude York; brothers, Wade Stamper and Hubert Stamper.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Wally Slatinsky of Allendale, MI; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Sheila Rogers of Gainesville, GA ; daughter and son-in-law, Teena and Jerry Gouge of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Tyler, Sara Kate and Allison; sister, Rebia Stamper York of Fairburn, GA.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Family Promise of Hall County, P.O. box 1251 Gainesville, Georgia, 30503.
