Arthur Thomas Gerstel

Mr. Arthur Thomas Gerstel who was born on July 8, 1912 and died on April 1, 2013 at the age of 100. He lived most of his life in Chicago, Illinois and was married 71 years to Lottie M. Gerstel, who preceded him in death in 2006. He moved to Cleveland after her death and has been involved with the White County Senior Center and attended Cleveland United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland. Arthur was also preceded in death by his 3 siblings and his son, Donald A. Gerstel, who was a Navy pilot and is MIA/KIA Vietnam (1972).

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Arlene and Roy Clay of Cleveland. In addition he leaves five grandsons, Rick Clay, Guy Gerstel, Brett Gallman, Ken Gerstel and Craig Gallman. His great grandchildren include Krystal Clay, Matthew Gallman, Briana Gallman, Jenna Gallman, Ellie Gallman, Isabella Gerstel, Carson Gallman and Keila Gerstel. The viewing will be held at Alexander Funeral Home in Cleveland, Georgia on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 3 to 6 pm, with a memorial service at 5pm. Interment will be held at Grace Memorial Gardens in Hudson, Florida

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the White County Senior Center, 1239 Helen Hwy, Cleveland, Georgia 30528
