Mrs. Hazel G. Adams, 91, of Bowman, wife of the late Robert E. Adams, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013.
Born in Dewy Rose, she was the daughter of the late James Clarence and Lessie Brown Gunnells. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Scarlette A. Henson; brothers, Sheral, Billy and James Gunnells.
A graduate of Bowman High School, Mrs. Adams retired in 1976 after 25 years as a salesperson with Davidson's Department Store. An accomplished seamstress, she took great pride in sewing for her family and friends. She was a member of Liberty Congregational Church in Dewy Rose, which was founded by her great-grandfather.
Left to cherish her memory is daughter and son-in-law, Shirley A. and William Tootle of Commerce; son-in-law, Hubert Henson of Memphis, TN; sister, Beth G. Brown of Royston; grandchildren, Terri Connolly (Joe) of Suwanee, Clay Tootle (Cindy) of Hoschton, Danah Smith (Randy) of Memphis, Glenn Tootle (Chasity) of Commerce, Renee Tootle of Commerce; great-grandchildren, Preston, Madison, Brandon, Hannah, Lina, Cade, Chase, Catherine, Ansley, Abby and Ashby.
Memorial services will be held, Wednesday, April 3 at 2 PM, at Liberty Congregational Church in Dewy Rose. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Liberty Congregational Church, 1845 Liberty Church Road, Dewy Rose, GA 30634.
