David Allen Edge, age 76, died on Saturday March 30, 2013 at his home in Gainesville, GA.
Born September 18, 1936 in Sarasota, FL; the son of the late Allen Ernest Edge and Hattie Bell (Dawes) Edge. David spent his entire life serving the communities in which he lived through several charities and service organizations. David was most active in the Lions Club serving as an officer for more than 20 years of his 50 plus years of active service. David most recently was presented with the "Melvin Jones Fellow", the Lions Club International Foundation's highest honor for a lifetime of dedicated humanitarian service.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sally Edge; and five children Nancy Corwin, Jim Edge, Jeff Edge, Patricia Coleman and Fred Edge, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. David and Sally came to Cleveland Georgia from Bonita Springs, Florida in 1988 and have been in Gainesville since 1996.
