Ernest Leroy Moulder

ERNEST LEROY MOULDER, of Clarkesville, Georgia, died on Friday, March
29, 2013, in Maple Ridge Health Center at 97 years of age.

Born in Buford, Georgia, on December 6, 1915, to the late Ernest and
Mattie Moulder, LeRoy had a full life. He graduated from North Georgia
Technical School in 1953. He was a successful businessman, as the
owner of Moulder's 5 and 10 store and Moulder Studio. He was a popular
photographer and a well loved member of the community. He was a member
of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he was an ordained deacon. LeRoy
also served as Habersham County Associational Director of the
Brotherhood, Royal Ambassador Leader, and Church Training Director. He
was Civil Defense Director for Habersham County for 13 years and
served in the U.S. Army during World War II. LeRoy was also a
recipient of the Republican Congressional Gold Medal and Senatorial
Freedom Medal. He was a volunteer member of the Habersham County
Senior Center. He retired from professional photography in 1980. LeRoy
was known for a keen mind that remembered everything (even at 97
years), a great sense of humor, and love for all people created in the
image of God. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Christine Moulder
and his daughter, Brenda Gayle Moulder.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Liz
Moulder, Lavonia, GA; daughter, Beverly Carroll, Cartersville, GA;
five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April
1, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia,
with Rev. Tommy Stowe officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah
Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the service hour on Monday.
