Keith Tyra 'Ty' Queen

Obituary Date: Thursday, March 28, 2013

Keith Tyra "Ty" Queen, 60, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center.



He was born in Rabun County and was the son of the late Lamon Oliver (Jack) Queen and Fay Knott McMullin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Kirk Queen. He is survived by sisters, Martha Jo Queen of Harrison, AK, Nancy Young of Ellaville, GA, Cheryl Swan and her husband Dick of Evans, GA, Merrie Queen of Wiley, GA, Jan Heath of Ellaville, GA; a half-sister, Vicki Smith of Macon, GA; two half-brothers, Robi Queen of Perry, GA and Jay Queen, also of Perry, GA. He is also survived by a close friend, Kim Hunter of Franklin, NC.



"Ty" was raised in the home of his grandparents, Lamon and Juanita Queen. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was employed as a retail clerk. He was a big Georgia Bulldog fan and liked to fish, and enjoyed sports and was an avid reader.



The family will receive friends at Blue Heights Baptist Church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2013. Funeral services will be held following visitation Monday at 2 PM at Blue Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Madison McCrackin officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Heights Cemetery.
