Douglas Whidby

Mr. Douglas Whidby, age 88, of Oxford, GA and formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Whidby. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jacky Johnson, Oxford, GA and Buford, GA; grandchildren, Gina and Matthew Wright, Oxford, GA and Tina and Chip Moore, Oxford, GA; great grandchildren, Alyssa Wright, Marissa Wright, Christina Wright, Garrett Moore and Addison Moore; several nieces, nephews and cousins; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Elaine Roebuck, Buford, GA; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Roebuck Davis, Buford, GA and Donnie Lancaster Roebuck, Buford, GA. Mr. Whidby was born July 4, 1924 in Buford, GA. He received his education from Buford City School System. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and Air Force. He was a retired carpenter. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Roebuck officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
