Daniel "Dan" Jackson Davis

Daniel "Dan" Jackson Davis, age 73, of Dahlonega, Ga. passed away Friday March 22, 2013.

Mr. Davis was born in Lumpkin County, lived in Doraville for 30 years, and returned to Dahlonega to retire 15 years ago. He was an Army Veteran and fought in the Vietnam War. He worked for Southern Bell Company where he was the manager over vehicle maintenance.
Dan was a big supporter of Lumpkin County's and North Georgia College's athletics. He had a great love for ball and the kids he watched play. He was an Alumni of North Georgia College where he graduated with a degree in Business Management.

He was the son of the late Austell and Sidney Roberts Davis, and was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Davis.

Dan is survived by his wife, Tamako "Tammie" Davis; daughter, Donna Walker; brother and sister-in-law, Oscar and Barbara Davis, all of Dahlonega; sisters, Sarah Jean Baker, Dunwoody, GA, and Patsy Brooks, Norcross, GA; former son-in-law, Nathan Walker, Gainesville, GA; grandsons, Daniel James Anderson and David Anthony Anderson, Dahlonega, GA; granddaughter, Jessi Lynn Simmons, Gainesville, GA; and great grandchildren, Carolina Roselyn and Daniel Kenneth Anderson. Several nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Dan are scheduled for 3 PM Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 4 PM until 9 PM Sunday, March 24, and 11 AM until 3 PM Monday, March 25.
