Mr. George Adonis Pendley, Sr., 84 of Gainesville died Wednesday December 5, 2012 at his residence.
Born in Cumming, Georgia, to Alexis Adonis and Virginia Swope Pendley Compher. Mr. Pendley had lived in Virginia for a number of years before moving back to Hall County where he had lived for over 50 years. He was retired from Con-Agra Poultry Company where he worked as a serviceman. Mr. Pendley was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife of over 63 years; Virginia Strickland Pendley; children, Fay Ann and Larry Aikens, George Pendley, Jr., Cherry and Glen Abernathy, Ricky and Cheryl Pendley, Pamela Dean, grandchildren; Joe and Mandy Dunn, Adam and Heather Aikens, Shannon and Wesley Appling, Abby Smith, Michael and Kelli Dunn, Jessica Pendley, Jordan and Tiffany Pendley, Brandon Pendley, Justin Dean, Kyla Dean; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, and four sisters, and two sisters-in-law, with many other relatives and friends surviving.
Mr. Pendley is preceded in death by a son, Phillip Pendley.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Antioch United Methodist Church. Pastor Diego Orsini and Chaplain Alex Stephens will officiate.
