Olga Wecher Accetturo

Obituary Date: Saturday, March 9, 2013


Mrs. Olga Wecher Accetturo, 82, of Gainesville, passed away March 9, 2013 following a long battle with lung cancer.



Born in Providence RI, on March 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Dunia Wecher. She was a professional singer in the 1940's with the Big Bands in New York. After her marriage, she began working in women's apparel and retired as the manager of Marianne's, a chain of women's clothing stores. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Largo, FL and of the First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, GA. She had lived in Gainesville for the last 2 years. Her greatest love and passion remained singing which she continued in her churches choirs.



Her family would like to thank all her friends for their enduring kindness, friendship and love they showed Olga.



In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Accetturo.



She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Debra and Doug Harkrider of Gainesville, Ga.; son and daughter in law, Mark and Debbie Accetturo of Greenesboro, Ga.; sister and brother in law, Donna and Bud Conley of Providence, RI; granddaughters and their spouses, Kristen and Sean Bailey of Charlotte, NC, Lisa and Nelson Hernandez of Marietta, Ga.; and her great grandchildren, Will, Katie and Henry Bailey.



A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. this Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Church of the Advent, 338 Academy St. Madison, Ga.
