Russell Lopez "Russ" Griffin

Russell Lopez "Russ" Griffin, 81, of Gainesville, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013, at his home after a long illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Rod Bell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday March 10, 2013, from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday from noon until the funeral hour.

Russ was a lifetime resident of Gainesville, GA, where he was the owner and operator of Russ Paint and Body Shop. After retirement he enjoyed raising cattle and chickens at Red Oak Farm in Gillsville, GA.

Russ is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Griffin; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Patricia Griffin of Baldwin, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Martha Griffin of Dawsonville, GA, daughter and son-in-law Joy and Ted Ross of Gillsville, GA; grandchildren Phillip Griffin, Matthew Griffin, Will Griffin, Benjamin Ross, Brian Ross and an extended family. Russ was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Ruth Griffin, brother Randall Griffin, daughter-in-law Judy Healan Griffin, and grandson Brent Ross.
