Alma Laverne Bohanan

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Alma Laverne Bohanan, age 73, of Jefferson, who passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013. Mrs. Bohanan was born in Knoxville, TN, a daughter to the late William and Ortha Walton Hodges.

Mrs. Bohanan graduated from Central High School in Knoxville, TN and was a member of the Galilee Christian Church in Jefferson. Mrs. Bohanan was retired from Gwinnett County Public Schools where she was a lunchroom worker and a paraprofessional in the Dacula Schools. Mrs. Bohanan was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Bohanan.

Survivors include her sons and daughter in laws, Bentley and Pam Bohanan, Maysville, David and Connie Bohanan, Jefferson, Greg Bohanan, Westminster, SC, brother and sister in law, Bob F. and Sharon Hodges, Knoxville, two grandchildren, Joshua and Jared Bohanan, Jefferson.

The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 2pm in the Galilee Christian Church with Minister Tom Plank officiating. The visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Sunday at the Galilee Christian Church, prior to the service. The burial will follow in the Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder.
