Johnny C. Thomas

Johnny C. Thomas 79, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Reverend Drewery Loggins officiating. Interment will follow in Belton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 7, 2013 and Friday, March 8, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM both nights at the funeral home.

Mr. Thomas was born April 2, 1933 in Maysville, GA to the late John G. and Roxie Picklesimer Thomas. He was retired from International Paper and then was employed with Aqualand Marina. Johnny was a member of Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Norma Thomas of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Ronald Canup of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Phylliss and Ricky Standridge of Lula; step-son and wife, Steve and Teresa Grizzle of Oakwood; step-daughter and husband, Linda and Tim Harris of Gainesville; step-daughter and husband, Marie and Chris Braswell of Gainesville; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Bullock of McComb, MS and brother, Richard Thomas of McComb, MS.
