J.B. Queen

J.B. Queen, 94, of Mountain City, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Rabun County, GA and was the son of the late Arthur Queen and Mary Taylor Queen and step-mother, Belle Watts Queen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Lee Hunicutt Queen ; one son, Johnny Craig, a step-daughter Lottie Vernett, and a step-son, Roy Eugene Holcomb.

J.B. is survived by sons, Andy Queen and his wife Roxanna of Hendersonville, NC, Jeff Queen of Denver, CO; daughter, Rebecca A. Queen Spitz and husband Bruce of Mountain City, GA; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was a lifelong resident of Rabun County and was a WWII veteran. J.B. was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Friday, March 8, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2013 in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Hunnicutt officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Heights Cemetery.
