Yvonne C. Melancon

Yvonne C. Melancon, 84, of Dawsonville, GA passed away Saturday March 2, 2013 at Embracing Hospice following a period of declining health.

Born October 16, 1928 in New Orleans, LA to the late Joseph Robert and Marietta Lawton, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 20 years. A homemaker at her death, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Melancon attended Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church and was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Merlin "Mike" Melancon; three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Richard Melancon and Emily Monroe, Cumming, GA; daughter and son in law, Cindy and Fred Flohr, Westford, MA; brother and sister in law, Raymond and Patricia Lawton, Texas; grandchildren, Jeff and Karla Flohr, Nick Flohr, Clay Monroe-Melancon, Dustin Monroe-Melancon, and Rodney Monroe-Melancon.

Private memorial services for Mrs. Melancon will be held at a later date.
