Y.D. Abercrombie

Mr. Y.D. Abercrombie, age 77, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

Y.D. was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County where he spent his life as a poultry farmer. He was married to his loving wife, Patricia for 53 years; and was a loving father and grandfather. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was the son of the late James and Ella Anderson Abercrombie, and was also preceded in death by his two sons, Jack and Andy Abercrombie; sister, Glancie Ledford; and brother, Rudolph Abercrombie.

Mr. Abercrombie is survived by his wife, Patricia Harkins Abercrombie; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Jennifer Abercrombie; daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Marc Gallimore, all of Dahlonega; brother, J.C. Abercrombie, brother and sister-in-law, Sammy and Margaret Abercrombie, all of Chester, SC; sisters, Mae Edmondson, Clermont, GA, and Guenia Faye Kanaday, Dahlonega, GA. 8 grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Y.D. are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, March 2 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Charles Buice will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 3PM until 9PM on Friday, March 1, and from 10AM until 1PM on Saturday, March 2.
