Vera Dean Pethel Patton

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Vera Dean Pethel Patton, 93, of Talmo, Ga., who passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013.

A life long resident of Jackson County, Ga., Mrs. Patton was a daughter of the late Emanuel and Alma Beatty Pethel. Mrs. Patton retired from Gold Kist Hatchery in Gainesville, Ga. and in Commerce, Ga. with many years of service. Mrs. Patton was a member of Talmo Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patton was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Patton, a son, Danny Patton, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Mel (Debra) Patton, Talmo, Ga., Neil (Dawn) Patton, Talmo, Ga., 10 Grandchildren several Great grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral services will be Wednesday February 27, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. Those honored to serve, as pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandson, Caine Tate, Josh Patton, Shay Patton, Lee Patton, Jermey Patton, and Cody Harris. The family will receive friends on Tuesday February 26, 2013 at the funeral home from 6-8 PM.
