James Edward Pilgrim

James Edward Pilgrim, age 69 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Pilgrim was born June 21, 1943 in Cleveland to Alma Wade Pilgrim and the late John Pilgrim. He was retired from Fieldale and was preceded in death by his sister, Melba Smith.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Katrina Pilgrim and Mike Mintz, Maysville; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Edward and Renee Pilgrim, Cleveland; mother, Alma Pilgrim, Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Dorene Pilgrim, Cornelia; Terry and Debbie Pilgrim; Tony and Sonya Pilgrim; brother, Jerry Pilgrim, all of Cleveland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Queenola and Jim Daniels, Cornelia; Charlene and Leo Ivester, Clarksville; sister, Elizabeth Allen, Gainesville; grandchildren, Kyle Pilgrim, Logan Pilgrim, Kelsey Pilgrim and Kody Mintz.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Zion Interdenominational Church. The Rev. Gary Heffner, the Rev. Paul Flynn and the Rev. Dennis Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
