Norman L. Morgan

Mr. Norman L. Morgan, age 86, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside at Embracing Hospice on Saturday, February 9, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard N. Morgan. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Louise Liddell Morgan, Sugar Hill, GA; children, Philip and Lori Morgan, Sugar Hill, GA, Melanie and Joe Parris, Flowery Branch, GA and Merrie and Phillip West-Davis, Cumming, GA; daughter-in-law, Pam Morgan, Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren; Justin Morgan, Alpharetta, GA and Staci and Bill Rowley, Bethlehem, GA; and three great grandchildren, Meredith Rowley, Tinsley Rowley and Barrett Rowley.

Mr. Morgan was born June 29, 1926 in Atlanta, GA. He was a 1944 graduate of Tech High School and a 1950 graduate of Georgia Tech with a B.S. Degree in Industrial Management. He entered the military in 1944 and served three years in the U. S. Army having served in Central Europe. He received the Bronze Star, World War II Victory Medal and American Theatre Service Medal. He was retired Vice President from Business Equipment Center of Atlanta after sixteen years of service. He also worked for Remington Rand for twenty-five years. He was an active member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church where he was Trustee on the Finance Committee. He was an avid boater, loved square dancing, an avid Georgia Tech fan, and loved his church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Sugar Hill United Methodist Church Chapel with remains placed in state at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Mari Lane Brooks and Rev. Steve Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Embracing Hospice Foundation, 5775 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Suite D580, Atlanta, GA 30342 or to American Heart Association in memory of Norman Morgan.
