Dorothy Mae Shockley

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Shockley, age 85 of Gainesville, passed away on Friday, February 08, 2013 at New Horizons North.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Hicks and Reverend Bobby Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Lula, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 6:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shockley was born on June 4, 1927 in Danville, VA to the late Odis and Rosa Smith. She was a member of New Haven Congregational Holiness Church. Mrs. Shockley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis Shockley; daughters, Marie Shockley and Gladys Lewallen and her son, Robert Shockley.

Mrs. Shockley is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Sue Shockley of Lula; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Janice Shockley of Gainesville; son-in-law, Richard Lewallen of Lula; grandchildren, Bobby (Wanda) Shockley of Lula; Dwayne (Donna) Lewallen of Lula; Shane (Angie) Shockley of Demorest; April Berry of Lula; LaRae (Jake) Godfrey (Gainesville); Stephen (Olivia) Shockley; great-grandchildren, Ashley Shockley, Bailey Godfrey, Justin Berry, Matthew Chambers; and her brother, David Stump of Ringgold, VA.
