Mr. Harley Parker, age 88, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lillie Parker; and brothers, Roy Parker, Glen Parker, Ralph Parker, James Parker and Felton Parker. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Grace Harrison Parker, Flowery Branch, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Robyn Parker, Jefferson, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Gary Bailey, Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren, Miles Parker, Meredith Gallman and Matthew Bailey; five great grandchildren, Morgan, Abigail, Kylie, Anna and Kate; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katie and Leon Crow, Flowery Branch, GA and Doris and Larry Bailey, Cleveland, GA; sisters-in-law, Kathryn S. Parker, Buford, GA, Dot Harrison Head, Winder, GA and Jan Parker, Buford, GA; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bonnie Lee and Sue Harrison, Buford, GA.
Mr. Parker was born October 30, 1924 in Hall County, GA. He attended Moler Barber College in Atlanta, GA and was a Master Barber. He was employed by Bona Allen and Tandy Leather Co. for twenty-six years as a Foreman and Department Manager. He was associated with Cross Roads Grocery and Parker's Place for twenty-two years. Later, he was employed by Hall County Compactor's at Balus Creek and Gaines Ferry for fifteen years where he met and made many friends. He was a Justice of the Peace for many years. He was a member of Friendship Community Baptist Church in Buford, GA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Pirkle, Rev. Charles Pirkle and Dr. Jim Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Community Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
