Lois Jordan Benson

Mrs. Lois Jordan Benson, age 86, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away peacefully, with family at her side, Sunday, February 3, 2013.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Benson and daughter, Jackie Hudgins Hann. She is survived by daughter and husband, Jimmie and Ron Taylor, Sugar Hill, GA; special daughter, Pam Petty Terry; granddaughters and husbands, Tammy and Tim Harris, Buford, GA and Staci and Todd Pealock, Demorest, GA; son-in-law, Allan Hann; stepdaughter and husband, Nora and Ron Toback, Gainesville, GA; stepson, Johnny Benson and wife, Catherine, Braselton, GA; step grandchildren, Larry Jones, Anne Nash, Michael Jones, Tracy, Stephanie and Donna Benson; great grandchildren, Ansley and Jared Green, Mt. Airy, GA, Andrew Pealock, Cleveland, TN; step great grandchildren, Joel Jones, Brandon and Chris Terry, Austin Nash, Amanda, Michael, Jr. and Brent Jones, Libby, Abby, Juan Chris and Elizabeth Benson.

Mrs. Benson was born February 14, 1926 in Forsyth County, GA. She was a member of the Buford Church of God for twenty years and a member of the Heritage Builders Sunday School class. She was a very kind and loving mother, grandmother and a friend to everyone she met. She was known as the "Mint Lady" at church, giving candy to all. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She loved flowers, and they grew beautifully for her. She was retired from Georgia Art and Lighting in Lawrenceville. She will be greatly missed by her family, as she was the love of their lives.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Grizzle officiating and eulogy given by Staci Pealock. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Gainesville, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
