Herbert Alvin Phillips

Mr. Herbert Alvin Phillips age 77 of Gainesville, Ga passed away on Friday February 01, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday February 05, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Major Robert Hopper and Major Jim Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday February 04, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 p.m-6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Phillips was born on September 16, 1935 in Hall County to the late Herbert Anderson Phillips and Mary Pauline Mccuaig Phillips. He was a member of Salvation Army Church and was retired from William H Peck Construction Company as a supervisor. Mr. Phillips served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, James Douglas Phillips and Johnny Alvin Phillips, brothers, Lawrence Phillips, Maylon Phillips & Bobby Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Howington Phillips of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Janie Denise Alvarez and Bobby Alvarez of Anthem, Arizona,son, Larry Shane Phillips of Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law, Marcus and Retha Phillips of Jasper, Alabama, special sister and husband, Linda and Ralph Smith, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Janice Howington of Gainesville, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Homer and Mary Howington of Gainesville, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ricky and Phyllis Woods of Gainesville, sister-in-law, Regina Pressley of Gainesville, sister-in-law, Colleen Williamson of Gainesville, grandsons, Christopher Allison of Anthem, Arizona, Ryan Phillips of Gainesville, Stephen Jarrad of Gainesville, Tori Abrams of Gainesville, and Many Nieces and Nephews.
