Bruce Victor Laut

Bruce Victor Laut, age 81 of Cleveland, passed on Friday, February 1, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Deerborn, Michigan on August 7, 1931, he was the son of the late Victor James and Lillian Mae Burnham Laut. Mr. Laut was a Chef and was employed by the Hofbrau Haus in Helen for over 20 years. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an animal enthusiast that enjoyed rescuing and was a member of the American Skunk Association.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lee Harrer Laut and brother, Jack Laut.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth & Richard Hughes and Patricia & Kevin Roy all of Cornelia; grandchildren, Jason (Joni) Walters of Alto, Henry (Felicia) Walters of Demorest, Jennifer Roy and Christina Walters both of Cornelia, Bobby Hughes of Homer and Tia Hughes of Florida; seven great grandchildren; sister, Joan Runkis of Citrus Springs, Florida.
Memorial services are 11:00 am Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Full military honors will be provided by the Georgia National Guard, Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, American Legion Post #84 and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 am until the service hour.
