Carlton Benjamin Barnes

Carlton "Bully" Benjamin Barnes, age 69, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013.

The son of the late Shorty Benjamin and Arvie Chester Barnes, Carlton was a native of Lumpkin County, and was retired from his grading business, Barnes Grading. He had a love for Bluegrass music and played many instruments. He was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church in Forsyth County.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Garrison Barnes; son, Belton Barnes, Dahlonega, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Delena and Randy Wilson, Patti and Ricky Smith, of Murrayville, GA, Loretta and Daniel Garrett, Dahlonega, GA, Shelia and Brian Groves, Sardis, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Elaine Barnes, Dawsonville, GA; and sister and brother-in-law, Lorene and Morris Henderson, Cumming, GA. 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and a number of other relatives also survive.

A celebration of Carlton's life will be held at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 4PM until 9PM on Wednesday, January 30.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.
