Trelle Reese Puckett, a lifelong resident of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away at her home on January 26, 2013. She died surrounded by her children after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Trelle is a graduate of Gainesville High School and attended Brenau on a voice scholarship where she pledged as a Phi Mu. There she met the love of her life, J.B. Puckett. During the early years of their marriage, she was employed by Ralston Purina and later by Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce. After a brief professional career, she devoted her life to her family. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and a faithful servant of God.
Trelle was a advocate to the elderly and devoted many hours to nursing homes in the area. She was actively involved in her children's lives and volunteered for many activities including Girl Scouts and numerous organizations and schools. She was an accomplished cook and shared her love for cooking with everyone. She was an avid reader and eloquent writer. Later in life she developed a passion for gardening.
She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her family. She was a patient friend and mentor to all.
Preceding her in death, her beloved husband, J. B.; parents, Lou Nell (Thomas) and George Millard Reese; sister, Hazel Reese Hambright and brother, David Thomas Reese.
Those left who will love and mourn Trelle are son, Joey of Gainesville, GA; son Tim and daughter-in-law Ann, Cleveland, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Puckett and David Mullican, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; grandson, John Ewing, Anchorage, AK; granddaughter, Ally Mullican, Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Kelly Sluder, Atlanta, GA; and granddaughter, Tammy Pruitt, Buford, GA. Also surviving are sister, Sandy Reese Wilson of Gainesville, GA; brother, George Millard Reese of Gainesville, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and that those wishing to honor Trelle's memory do so with a gift to Gardens on Green, 711 Green Street Gainesville, GA 30501, or perform an act of kindness.
