Edna Kate Ward

Miss Edna Kate Ward, 82 of Lyons, Georgia formerly of Gainesville died Monday January 21, 2013.



Born in Dawson County, Miss Ward had lived in Hall County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Tomie Zola Sheriff Ward. She had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Bell-Minor Nursing Home and Lakeshore Heights Nursing Home for many years. Miss Ward attended the McEver Road United Methodist Church.



Survivors include her son, John D. Ward, Vidalia; grandchildren, Jennifer Smith and Jill Ward, both of Flowery Branch; Danielle and Terrell Cleveland, Gainesville; great grandchildren, Rashad Tate, Kendrick Smith, Jayden Smith, Alexa Brown, all of Flowery Branch; Malachi Cleveland, Gainesville, great niece and husband, Sue and Randy Zimmerman, Gainesville; great great nephews, George and Silas.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday January 25, 2013 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Terrell Cleveland will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday January 24, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.
