James Clifford Dowdy

James Clifford Dowdy, 83, of Cumming, GA died on January 20, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Tucker, GA he was the son of the late John and Elsie Dowdy. His beloved wife, Geneva Dowdy and brother, Robert Dowdy predeceased him.

James retired from Gaylord Container Corporation. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Dowdy of Cumming, GA, David Dowdy of Cumming, GA and Steve Dowdy of Dawsonville, GA; sisters, Bullah Carter of Buford, GA and Alice Williams of Woosley, GA; 9 much-loved grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 22 from 6:00 -9:00 pm and all day on January 23 at the funeral home.
