Hamilton Lee "Bunk" Coker

Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel announces the death of, Hamilton Lee "Bunk" Coker, age 80, of Gainesville Ga., passed away in his home in North Hall county on January 19, 2013 from an extended illness.

Bunk was born on April 13, 1932 in Gainesville Ga. He was the son of the late Lee Allen Coker, and Dovie (Cooper) Coker.

Bunk worked for more than 40 years in various positions within the poultry industry in the North Georgia area.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Bunk is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jean (Roper) Coker and one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Brenda Coker,one daughter and son-in-law Theresa (Coker) and Kenneth Freeman all of Murrayville.

Grandchildren include Jaime Herndon and husband Chad Herndon of Dawsonville , Amanda Wayne and husband Mike Wayne of Murrayville, Julie Coker of Decatur, Ashley Freeman and fiancé Jason Day of Murrayville, Brad Coker of Murrayville and Phillip Coker of Murrayville. Bunk has 2 great grandchildren Riley Herndon and Natalie Herndon both of Dawsonville.

Bunk is also survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lyman and Connie Coker and Gene Coker of Gainesville, two sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara (Coker) and Robert Allison of Clermont, Joyce (Coker) and Tommy Strickland of Acworth, Also surviving is brother-in-law and wife John A.and Hilda Roper of Cumming Ga.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. The family will receive friends and family 2 hours prior to the service from 5 till 7 P.M.

Rev. Steve Baker will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 5233 Will Wheeler Road, Murrayville, GA.
