Warner Eugene 'Gene' Haynes

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Warner Eugene "Gene" Haynes, age 82 of Cleveland. Mr. Haynes passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013.

Funeral services are sceduled for 2:00 pm, Monday, January 14, 2013 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dennis Taylor and Rev. Joey Pritchett officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Haynes was born in Hall County on December 22, 1930 to the late Harvey Haynes and Dora Mae Patton Haynes. He lived most of his life in White County where he enjoyed being a country and bluegrass entertainer and along with his wife owned and operated the Silver Spur Skating Rink. Mr. Haynes was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Bertha (Bobbie) Lewis Haynes, of Cleveland; son, Allen Haynes of Toccoa; son and daughter in law, Roger and Maureen Haynes of Cleveland; daughter and son in law Linda and Kevin Mead of Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. Haynes is also survived by his grandchildren, Shannon Mead and Jeff Mead as well as a great granddaughter, Jordan Mead.

The family will recieve friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 6 to 8 pm
