Karen Louise Parks

Karen Louise Parks of Alpharetta, GA arrived in heaven on 1/06/2013 after a courageous fight with lung cancer.
She was born in 1947 in Lebanon, PA and was preceded in death by her parents Earlene Heller Lux and Lester Lux. She graduated from Lebanon High School and also received a degree in Respiratory Therapy while living in MS and always enjoyed working in pediatric department. Children were always drawn to her lively youthful spirit.
She married her high school sweetheart Neal Parks. They lived in Illinois, New York, Mississippi, Louisiana, Iowa, Connecticut, and Georgia (since 2006). Karen lived life fully and deeply, always touching the lives of those who came to know her and although she will be missed, the impression she made on other lives will be permanent.
Karen enjoyed traveling and was also open to anything athletic. She was an avid tennis player and played in State and National finals. Besides enjoying gardening and baking, she loved being with friends and family.
Karen is survived by her husband Neal; their two sons, Timothy Neal Parks (Atlanta) and Todd Michael Parks (Alpharetta); sisters Marilyn Shott and Judith Frank, her brother Bill Lux all who live in Lebanon, PA. Other survivors include many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
In honor of Karen's life donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
A Celebration of her life will be held this Sunday (13th) from 2pm-4pm at the Clubhouse in the Deerlake Subdivision.
