Hattie Loggins Smith

Obituary Date: Monday, January 7, 2013

Mrs. Hattie Loggins Smith, age 97 of New Holland, went to be with the Lord on Monday January 7, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday January 09, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., New Haven Congregational Holiness Church, with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Wayne Hicks and Rev C.A. Register will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 08, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.and 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.


Mrs. Smith was born on January 16, 1915 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Claude Loggins and Ellie Morris Loggins. She was a homemaker and was a member of Gainesville Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Thomas Lee Smith.


Mrs. Smith known as "MawMaw" loved the Lord with all of heart. She shared her compassion for Christ by raising her family in church. She shared her love of cooking with everyone. She loved to sing and play the piano. She loved everyone and wanted everyone to go to heaven with her. She was loved by all that knew her.


Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Claudine and Tiny Pittman of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Christie Smith of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Barbara Smith of Gainesville, grandson and wife, Sandy and Angie Pittman of Alpharetta, grandson and wife, Kevin and Mary Jane Pittman of Gainesville, grandson and wife, Chad and LeeAnn Pittman of Hoschton, great-grandsons Evan Pittman, Joshua Pittman, Will Pittman, Charlie Pittman, Ben Pittman, Brady Pittman, and Bryce Pittman, sister, Rosie Smith of Gainesville, sister, Thelma Sosebee of Alabama, brother, J.D. Loggins of New Holland, sister-in-law, Mary Loggins of Cumming, and a host of nieces and nephews.
