Ronald Lee Jones

Ronald Lee Jones passed away in Clarkesville, Georgia on January 6, 2013 at the age of 79 after a long and courageous battle with COPD and congestive heart failure.

He is predeceased by his parents, Emmett and Bessie Jones; son, Michael Jones; sisters, Irene Desmond, Wilmoth Thompson and Jean Price; and brothers, Cecil Jones and Roy Jones.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Sosebee Jones, of 53years. Ronald is lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Curtis Milke of Joplin, Missouri; son and daughter-in-law, Brennan and Robin Jones of Winston, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Grace Jones of Clarkesville, Georgia; son and daughter-in law, Glenn and Elizabeth Jones of Huntersville, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Taylor Jones, Trevor Jones, Austin Jones, Ashley Jones, Nathaniel Jones, and Nicholas Jones; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and J.W. Bowen of Rome, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronald was born in Gordon, Georgia on February 13, 1933. He graduated from high school in Wilkinson County and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 during the Korean War. Ronald achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves before being honorably discharged in 1961. He worked in general and regional management positions for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and in private business. Ronald was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Decatur, Georgia. Ronald enjoyed water skiing, deep-sea fishing, gardening, square dancing, and spending time with his loving family.

The visitation will be held at Hillside Memorial Chapel, 5495 Highway 197 South, Clarkesville, Georgia on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 6:00
