Ralph Calhoun

Mr. Ralph Calhoun, age 87, of Dahlonega, GA, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at his residence.

Ralph was a native of Lumpkin County and a retired welder. He was a member of Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge #38. He was a United States Navy Veteran, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Dahlonega.

Mr. Calhoun was the son of the late Garland and Bertie Gamlin Calhoun; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Nichols Calhoun; brother, Ray Calhoun; sisters, Buelh Bridges, Ocie Sears, Billie Jean Hamilton, and Irma Kendall.

Ralph is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Betty Calhoun, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Rob and Ashley Calhoun, Muncie, IN, Corey and Joshua Markus, Abilene, TX, Frank and Kelli Boston, and Steven and Emily Boston of Dahlonega, GA. 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Ralph are scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Dahlonega.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Allen Swofford, and Rev. Russell Burt will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Saturday from 1 PM until 9 PM, and Sunday from 9AM until 2:30 PM.
