William Karl "Bud" Duckworth

William Karl "Bud" Duckworth, 69, of Tiger, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA.



He was born in Walhalla, SC on November 11, 1943 and was the son of William C. and Lila Hood Duckworth.



Bud was preceded in death by his father and a son, Charles Dennis. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Sussie Roane Duckworth, a son, Sidney R. Dennis of Modoc, SC; a brother, Donald Duckworth of Seneca, SC; and two sisters, Judy Davis and Mildred Brooks, both of Seneca, SC. Also surviving is one granddaughter.



Bud was retired from the National Guard and served his country faithfully in Vietnam. He was a member of the DAV, VFW, and the American Legion. He worked for many years at Whittaker Oil Company and for the Rabun County Recycling Department. He was a member of Tiger Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors and was an avid reader of Westerns.



The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home from 9 AM, to 10:45 AM, Thursday, January 3, 2013. Following visitation, a Graveside Service with full military honors will be held at 11 AM at Roane Cemetery in Clayton, GA.
