Margaret L. Hyatt

Obituary Date: Monday, December 31, 2012

Ms. Margaret L. Hyatt, age 57, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 as a result of a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Her family and friends were by her side as she drifted off to be with the Lord. God rest her soul.

Memorial services are scheduled for 6:00 pm Friday, January 4, 2013 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Reverend Terry Walton will officiate.

Ms. Hyatt was born Dec 14, 1955, in Oberkirchen/Saarland, Germany, and is the daughter of Alois Keller and Elisabeth (Barthel) Keller. She moved to the United States in 1973 and was an accomplished seamstress. Ms. Hyatt was a resident of Charleston SC for many years before moving to Gainesville Ga. While living in Gainesville she worked as a seamstress at Warren Featherbone and was also a successful bartender at Henry O's and Jellens Restaurants. While she did this she also spent a lot of her own personal time as a volunteer for different organizations. Ms. Hyatt was a member of the La Societe de Femes, and the auxiliary of the 40 & 8. The La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux is a veterans organization where she served as the correspondante and commissaire. Ms. Hyatt was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4452. She played an Active role in both of these organizations until her health declined.

She is survived by her son, Brian Mills; sons and daughters-in-law, Ian and Tabitha Nolen; Christopher and Konnie Hyatt; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Nathaniel, Alexander, Hayden and Rylan; brother, Alois Keller; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dieter and Gundi Keller; and Michel and Rita Keller; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Fred Schaeer; niece, Selina.
Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Stephen Ministries of First Baptist Church 751 Green Street Gainesville, GA 30501.
