Lesley Loy "Cotton" Watkins

Lesley Loy "Cotton" Watkins, age 56 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Earl Pirkle and Reverend Mike Burgamy will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.


Mr. Watkins was born on February 15, 1956 in Gainesville, GA to Loy Watkins and the late Margaret "Susie" Crowe Watkins. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his mother.


Mr. Watkins is survived by his wife, Myra Burgamy Watkins of Gainesville; father, Loy Watkins of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa Watkins Cook and Chris Cook of Jasper, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Nancy England of Gainesville; aunt, Virginia Watkins of Gainesville; aunt, Freda Watkins of Athens; aunt and uncle, Lila and Leroy Couch of Toccoa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Carmen Burgamy of Flowery Branch; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
