Imogene Smith Stewart

Imogene Smith Stewart, age 73 of Clarkesville, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Habersham County on January 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Mack, Sr. and Sally Bramlett Smith. Mrs. Stewart was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture as an inspector and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her former husband, Walter A. Stewart; brothers, Mack "Bud" Smith and Farrington Smith; sisters, Lucille Moore and Maxine Booth.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Quilla Jean & Tony Lee of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Colleen Stewart of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Tish Davis (Todd), Sabrina Stewart, Caz Stewart, LaQuilla Porter (Chris) and Amy Lee; great grandchildren, Brooke Wade, Brett Wade, Heather Vaughn, Stuart Harrison, Lance Roberts and Peyton Porter; great-great grandchild, Cason Wood; sister, Stella Glatfelter of Mobile, AL.

Funeral services are 1:00 pm Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in the Demorest City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-8 pm on Saturday.
