John Lawton Hatcher

Mr. John Lawton Hatcher, age 78, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.


Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm Friday, December 28, 2012 at Dewberry Baptist Church No. 2 with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend Ronnie Fuller will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the funeral home.



Mr. Hatcher was born June 2, 1934 in Hall County and was the son of the late L.C. Hatcher and Minor (Persley) Hatcher. He was a member of Dewberry Baptist Church No. 2. Mr. Hatcher was preceded in death by his parents; sons, J.B. Hatcher and Tony Hatcher; brothers and sisters, Bunion Hatcher, Broton Hatcher and Edith Roller.


He is survived by his wife, Birtie Marie (Gaddis) Hatcher of Gainesville; children, Len Hatcher; Lawton (Wanda) Hatcher; Leamuel Hatcher; Marcell Hatcher; grandchildren, Jeffery (Chasity) Hatcher, Henry (Amber) Hatcher, Shane, Adam, Haley, Hanna, Allen, L.C., Dylan, Damon, Chennye, Tia, Tessa, Aiden and Tucker; great-grandchildren Braiden and Harley Hatcher; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Alene Hatcher.
