Mr. Ben Marlyn Mason, 82 of Gainesville died Tuesday December 25, 2012 at his residence.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Mason was the son of the late Gordon and Nellie Martin Mason. He was the owner and operator of Lanier Generator Exchange on Dawsonville Highway for a number of years before his retirement. He was a former member of the Gainesville Elks Club. Mr. Mason was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church in Forsyth County.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years; Eloise Bennett Mason; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and David Murphy; son, Tim Mason; son and daughter-in-law; Ben and Laurie Mason all of Gainesville; grandchildren, Mason Murphy; Stephen Mason; Ashley and Landon Skinner and great grandson, Taylor all of Gainesville.
A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Mason is preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday December 28, 2012 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gerald Blackburn and Rev. Monroe Gunter will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday December 27, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
