Mr. Bobby Gene Autry, age 69, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gladys Cofer Autry; and brother, Rev. Billy Autry.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Mary Herrin Autry, Buford, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Sheila Autry, Jefferson, GA, Steve and Nicole Autry, Loganville, GA and Greg Autry, Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren, Zack Autry, Layla Autry, Jacob Autry and Sarah Autry; brother and sister-in-law, James and Jean Autry, Dawsonville, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Geneva Evans, Duluth, GA and Robin and William Woodruff, Auburn, GA; sisters-in-law, Janey Autry, Gainesville, GA and Mildred Smallwood, Duluth, GA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael and Judy Herrin, Albany, GA and Cecil and Shirley Herrin, Carrollton, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Autry was born February 1, 1943 in Gainesville, GA.
He received his education at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA; He was employed with Price Industries in Suwanee, GA as a machinist. He also worked for Georgia Art Lighting in Lawrenceville, GA for thirty-five years. He played upright bass fiddle with the Everett Brothers in Suwanee, GA for about forty years. He was an avid lover of Bluegrass Music and other music. He was an avid trout fisherman and loving the mountains. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Peoples Baptist Church, 6182 McEver Road, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 with Rev. Joel Shadburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Peoples Baptist Church Cemetery in Flowery Branch, GA.
